

NAHS plays an important role in the community by providing comprehensive primary health care services, promoting of healthy lifestyles, strengthening emotional and social wellbeing, and by providing training and employment opportunities for Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in the region. NAHS also provides valuable professional development opportunities for mainstream health and medical staff seeking to gain experience in rural and remote health delivery.
Our key result areas and strategies for supporting the community include:
KRA: Ongoing management of the Parenting and Early Childhood Development Centre facility
Develop and implement a comprehensive, flexible and holistic preventative and early intervention parenting and early childhood development strategy
KRA: Enhanced quality of life for the frail, aged, and people with a disability
Provide a comprehensive, coordinated and integrated range of basic maintenance and support services for frail, aged, and people with a disability and their carers
KRA: Improved living conditions through environmental health management
Provide regular environmental health services for Aboriginal communities in the region
Identify maintenance required to support environmental health facilities and equipment
Monitor environmental health conditions to identify opportunities to improve conditions for the community
Decreased incidence of alcohol and other substance abuse
Provide a safe, care oriented environment for people found intoxicated in public
Work in collaboration with Wiluna Police, Wiluna Hotel, and the Shire Council to reduce violence in the community
